I'm Spinning

Well, I've finally done it...I'm spinning yarn! I decided that "the wheel" was not going to beat me and I fiddled with the tension on my spinning wheel until the fiber started taking up! Only 2 1/2 years of practicing and FINALLY BINGO!!! I CAN do it!!! I'll post some pictures soon of my....(gulp) handspun!

Grandson's All Star ball games were rained out here today in Alabama. After I got off work, I'm spending a lazy afternoon knitting :) Working on my knit items for sale now. I have ordered business cards and clothing labels....can't wait till they arrive. Gotta go, the needles are calling me!

YAY! My first posting on my new blog! It has long been a dream of mine to be able to sell my knitted items. I love to knit and give away things, but as I slowly work my way into retirement, I'd love to turn my hobby into a business. The main items I will be creating for sale will be baby sweaters, bonnets, hats, booties, and burp cloths. Also scarves, hats, soap sacks, and purses and household items such as dish towels and cloths.
I do work full time, so you may catch me knitting in odd places, such as the ball park, waiting for the doctor, and while driving (only kidding!) A girl has got to get her knitting time in some way! Hopefully I will be trying to build a name for myself by setting up at many craft fairs, trade days and things like that to help establish a market for my handknit items. I hope to see you soon!
